About Mo

Rescued: May 14, 2026, ASU Tempe Distinctive Features: silky grey and white fur, big pointy ears, white legs with grey toe beans, one tiny grey freckle on left front leg, golden yellow eyes, displeased raspy old lady voice Elmo ('Mo') is a 6-month-old kitten with big ears and a bigger personality. Mo was found living in a colony in an ASU dorm parking garage. She was the only kitten in the colony and stood out immediately for her unusual friendliness toward people, often marching right up to strangers to demand food in her raspy meow that sounds more like a creaky old door than a tiny kitten. Now indoors, she's thriving and learning how to be a carefree kitten in a safe space. She loves to hunt toys, chase feather wands, and bat balls around the room. She particularly enjoys a midnight murder session, where she stalks an unsuspecting mouse toy before proudly and loudly announcing her successful hunt to anyone within earshot. But despite her time on the streets, her play style is remarkably gentle and sweet. When she is off mouse patrol duty, Mo enjoys watching birds from a sunny window and keeping up with whatever is playing on cat TV, but her favorite activity is spending time with a human she trusts. She's a big fan of head scratches and kisses, has an enthusiastic purr, and is getting more snuggly by the day. Mo may be a little shy at first, but once she opens up, she will be your very best friend. Mo gets along with other cats with proper, slow introductions and would do best with a friendly kitty companion.
