About Zeus

Zeus is looking for an *experienced* forever home. He has been with me since puppyhood and is loving, loyal, funny, and deeply bonded - but I can no longer safely meet his needs and am being fully transparent about his history. Trained: Sit, stay, out, quiet, potty-trained, crate-trained, comfortable alone at home. Behavioral history: Zeus has a documented aggression and biting history rooted in resource guarding and fear-based reactivity (triggered by touch near his head and proximity to food/water). He has been working with a professional trainer. 10 of his 14 biting incidents have occurred since relocating to NYC - he does best in calm, low-stimulation environments with consistent, experienced handlers. His ideal adopter is someone who: * Has prior experience with reactive, fearful, or resource-guarding dogs * Lives in a calm, low-traffic home - ideally suburban or rural * Has no young children and limited unpredictable visitors * Is committed to continuing behavior modification work with a trainer * Understands that he requires structure, patience, and a slow adjustment period * Can give him one-on-one attention and a consistent routine Zeus will thrive with the right person.
