About DAFFODIL

DAFFODIL is a beautiful 1.5 year old, 14 pound Chihuahua mix who was surrendered to us after being found in the country with a bunch of other dogs. She was pregnant when she came in and all of her puppies have been adopted. Now it's her turn to find a forever home. DAFFODIL is an old soul with a calm, gentle nature and a heart full of love. She enjoys being close to her people, whether that means sitting beside you on the couch with part of her touching you, following you around the yard, or simply keeping you company throughout the day. DAFFODIL gets along well with other dogs. She has no issues with the larger dogs in her foster home and enjoys playing with the foster's tiny 3-pound puppy. She would be happy in a home with another friendly dog, but she would also do well as an only dog where she can soak up all the attention. She can be a little vocal when new people arrive and definitely has a bit of stranger danger, but she settles down fairly quickly once she realizes everything is okay. DAFFODIL is housebroken and will bark to let you know when she needs to go outside. She loves spending time outdoors, especially lounging on the patio and soaking up the sunshine. She does have a tendency to wander and enjoys chasing squirrels, so a securely fenced yard would be ideal. She is currently working on her leash skills and continues to make progress. DAFFODIL can be anxious during car rides and may need a little patience and reassurance while traveling. At bedtime, she would much rather be snuggled up beside her person than anywhere else. Now that all of her puppies are gone, she has a little separation anxiety at night and wants to be close. DAFFODIL is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
