Lucy is a 1 year old, 43 pound, good-natured, sweet dog with many great qualities & would be a wonderful pet for an active family who can play, walk, and train with her. Lucy was pulled from a kill shelter on her last day so she would not be euthanized, with the hope of finding her a home to meet these needs. She has been to the vet, is heartworm negative & current on her shots. She will be spayed in July & if adopted before then, I will pay for this service. Lucy is friendly with people, dogs, non-reactive to cats, active (lots of puppy energy) & walks well on a leash (stays close and doesn't chase birds/squirrels). Lucy is a quick learner, has adapted well to potty and crate training, and has picked up 'sit' since I've been working with her. During her recent vet visit, Lucy remained calm in the waiting room & during the exam (the vet even commented on her pleasant demeanor). She does jump up at times, so we are continuing to train her on that. A fenced yard would also be helpful for her to run/get energy out. Overall, she is a loving and playful dog who is waiting for her forever family. Serious inquiries only. Please contact me if you think you may be a good fit or would like to meet her. Her adoption fee will be donated to the SPCA.
