About Rozie

Pit Bull mix
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Name: Rozie Breed: Pit Bull Mix Sex: Spayed Female Age: 2 years Weight: 56 lbs Animal Number: 4453 Sweet, Sensitive, Shy Love Bug Good with dogs? Yes, Rozie loves other dogs! Having a sibling in her forever home would be a great way for her to learn and build confidence. She prefers to walk on leash side by side with her trusted doggie companion, and often leans on her (or even sits on) them for safety and security. She has been comfortable around peaceful dogs, but has also enjoyed raucous play with more energetic dogs, even those without great manners. Good with cats? Not Tested. Good with kids? Not Tested in foster care, but reportedly she lived with kids before. She may do better with older kids who understand and accommodate her anxiety and do not make quick movements or loud noises. Energy level: Medium - she is fine chilling for most of the day, but will take full advantage of opportunities to zoom and derp around! She is game for several walks a day, but also just likes to hang out and keep you company. She likes to be on the couch or bed with her people, and loves snuggles! She is learning how to play with toys. Behavioral needs: Rozie is a very shy, anxious girl, currently taking anti-anxiety medicine. When she's settled into calm environments and a routine that avoids stressors, she has really started to blossom! Having strangers over to the house or going to busy public environments outside will always be hard for her, and she'll need to take it slow and minimize this at first. When scared, Rozie is avoidant rather than aggressive or defensive, but she still needs an adopter who will take the time and effort to train her and help her feel safe and secure. Animal Characteristics: Rozie is a sweet, sensitive, shy, silly, love bug who quickly warms up to loving people and enjoys being petted and treated with gentle affection. She is charming, playful and goofy once she feels comfortable enough to show that side of herself! She is a bit anxious and fearful when in new spaces, or around new people, loud noises or quick movements, so she loves the soothing company of both humans and dogs that she trusts. Rozie would be very happy with a sweet doggie sibling, but could also live as the only dog in a home with a yard so she doesn't have to go on regular walks as she settles in, since she currently is worried about walking without a confident dog by her side, and she struggled and couldn't cope with apartment life with her first foster. Rozie responds to her name, listens well and is food motivated, so she should continue to do well with positive reinforcement training, love, and delicious meals and treats! She is crate trained, potty trained, and good at riding in a car, preferably with a doggie friend! Adorable Rozie just needs a patient, peaceful, loving home where she can settle in and blossom as a beloved family member who's ready to share her affection!
