Thank you so much [Case opened on 6/8/26]. URGENT - PLEASE READ FULL PROFILE CAREFULLY FOR THIS SWEET BOY Milford, Ohio (willing to drive up to TBD). Estimated 4 Y/O MALE ANATOLIAN SHEPHERD (Estimated DOB: 6/8/22). His name is 'Frankie'. Background: Frankie was dumped in the woods and survived roaming alone for MONTHS while neighbors and police desperately tried to safely capture him. After months of surviving on his own, he was finally secured and rescued. He has now been taken in for the past several months with a loving family who has worked incredibly hard helping him decompress, feel safe, and learn what love and security truly are, as well as vet care, vaccinations, Etc. The transformation has been amazing according to the police officer who originally tried to capture him - they cannot believe he is the same dog. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Great with kids OUTSIDE, but PLEASE READ BELOW regarding indoor behavior concerns and Resource Guarding. Currently lives with children ages 2 and 4, but being kept separated from them. Great with dogs - currently lives successfully with a dog that historically never liked other dogs and they have become best friends. NOT Good with cats. House trained. NOT Crate trained. Frankie has severe Trauma Responses to enclosed spaces, closed doors, and confinement. Currently living primarily outside/in the barn due to behavior concerns listed below. During storms he is allowed inside because he is terrified of loud noises (thunder, fireworks, etc). Any known medical issues?: Tested positive for Lyme Disease but has completed treatment and is currently doing great. Foster/Current Shepherd Parent will continue providing updates after vet visits. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: YES. Frankie survived abandoned in the woods for months and clearly has significant Trauma related to confinement, loud noises, and safety/security. Much of his past remains unknown so sadly, it's hard telling what all he has been through, but he has already shown incredible emotional improvement and resilience. ENERGY LEVEL: Low. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High.Z Weighs approximately 120 lbs. Currently on Costco Salmon High Protein food. Good with car rides?: No - due to Trauma Responses related to enclosed spaces, he would likely require sedation for transport. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes overall. Frankie has done wonderfully meeting friends and family of the Foster/Current Shepherd Parent. HOWEVER, he is Reactive toward delivery drivers, workers, and unexpected strangers entering his perceived space. He also responds VERY positively to gentle 'baby talk' with praise, and warms up significantly faster when approached softly and kindly. %8F%90 Loves: Food, treats, training, bones, playing with dogs, being near his people, being brushed, walks, chilling on the couch, Yak chews, affection, and simply feeling safe. Frankie acts like a giant puppy once comfortable and secure. Important Behavior Notes: Frankie has severe trauma surrounding enclosed spaces and confinement. Afraid of storms, fireworks, loud noises, and chaos. Has jumped a 4-foot fence once during fireworks shortly after rescue, but no incidents since. Has Resource Guarding behaviors around his 'safe spaces.' VERY sweet and gentle outdoors with children - kisses them and interacts calmly - but can become unpredictable indoors if anxious or guarding space. Needs an experienced, calm Adopter who understands Trauma-Based Behaviors and will continue helping him feel secure. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): No. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: Yes - there have been minor incidents that MUST be disclosed: Frankie was startled when the Current Shepherd Parent's uncle unexpectedly entered the barn he was kept in, and Frankie nipped him on the butt. No broken skin. Frankie growled and jumped on the back of one of the children when they approached his indoor 'safe spot.' No reports filed and no action taken in either situation. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: . Re Homing because'|: Current Shepherd Parents rescued Frankie fully intending to keep him forever. Unfortunately, because they have very young children ages 2 and 4 in the home, they are heartbroken and t
