Fayetteville, Ohio (willing to drive up to 2 hours). 6 Y/O MALE BLACK GSD (DOB: 8/?/19). His name is 'JuJu'. Background: Current Shepherd Parent has had JuJu since puppyhood after getting him online. JuJu is now staying with the Current Shepherd Parent's parents in Fayetteville, Ohio. NOT UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. NOT Good with kids. Grandkids ages 3, 6, 9, and 11 visit often and JuJu has to be separated due to anxiety and overstimulation around children. Good with dogs he knows - currently lives with a 4-year-old female GSD. Reactive toward unfamiliar dogs. Unknown with cats. house trained. NOT Crate trained. JuJu has a Trauma Response to crates after injuring himself as a puppy while attempting to escape. He injured his face and paw and has struggled with crate Trauma ever since. When he lived inside, he Free Roamed indoors with very good behavior when left alone. Any known medical issues?: None disclosed. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: Crate Trauma Response from injuring himself trying to escape a crate as a puppy. ENERGY LEVEL: High. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: High. Weighs 65 lbs. Currently on Purina food. Good with car rides?: Yes. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): JuJu is Reactive, anxious, and protective with strangers in his space. He does much better with proper introductions, structure, and calm environments. Loves: Training, working, learning, walks, playing with dogs he knows, balls, affection, sleeping in bed with his person, being near his person, ropes, and having a purpose. Special Training: Basic Puppy Obedience Training. Important Behavior Notes: Reactive toward stranger dogs and unfamiliar people entering his space. Anxiety and overstimulation increase significantly around children and chaotic environments. Has Crate Trauma and should NOT be crated. Thrives best with routine, calm handling, structure, and limited overstimulation. Previously lived indoors and free roamed responsibly with good behavior. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: No. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: Yes - recently nipped a child on the back of the leg during a chaotic situation involving children running around and golf cart driving around. Current Shepherd Parent believes it may have been an accidental tooth scrape due to overstimulation and anxiety rather than an intentional bite. It resulted in a minor scratch only. No reports filed and no action taken. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: Juju is a high working drive dog that loves to work/play and needs a job. A great guard dog and loyal to his owners. . He needs someone patient and experienced who understands anxious shepherd behaviors and will NOT crate him due to his Trauma Response.
