Hello! I recently had to surrender a Pomchi to Contra Costa Animal Services. I rescued this dog from the San Jose Animal Shelter on May 17, 2026. Unfortunately, due to two severe bites, on June 3, 2026 and June 4, 2026, I had to surrender him. He is currently undergoing his 10-day rabies quarantine. The quarantine ends on June 14, 2026. He is only 4 years old. He is not a stray. He is sweet, and knows a lot of commands and tricks. He knows how to use a pee pad, and a doggie door, 'leash' and loves walks and exploring outdoors. Gets along with big dogs and is gentle with them. He is not food/toy aggressive. He loves my 92 year old father. I am reaching out to see if your rescue has an experienced behavioral foster or sanctuary space and the credentials to pull a dog with a bite history from a county shelter. Dog Details: Breed/Size: Pomchi, approx. 14.6 lbs Animal ID: A1047920 Bite 1: Level 4 puncture/holding bite to the hand when reaching over his head in a high-arousal car environment. Required ER visit/antibiotics. Bite 2: Severe resource guarding attack at feet/legs. I want to ensure the shelter staff and the public stay safe, but I wanted to check if a specialized rescue has the resources to save him before his quarantine ends on June 14, 2026. Thank you for your time.
