Meet Duke - Your New Best Friend! Duke is 100% adorable and ready to find his perfect forever home! This sweet little guy weighs just 8 pounds, making him the perfect lap companion. Duke loves attention and simply wants to be wherever his person is. Whether he's sitting on your lap, snuggled up in bed, hanging out at your desk while you work, or following you around the house, Duke is happiest when he's spending time with his favorite human. Duke is friendly, affectionate, and eager to be someone's best friend. He has a great little personality and is surprisingly athletic for his size-he can jump quite well and easily keep up with daily activities. He can be a little nervous in the car, but we think that's because he worries he's headed back to the shelter. With patience, love, and reassurance, we're confident he'll continue to blossom. Medical Update: Duke is scheduled for a senior wellness exam and lab panel on Tuesday, June 9. Once those results are received, he will be scheduled for a dental cleaning. Like many senior dogs, Duke deserves the medical care needed to help him live his best life. His adoption fee is $250, which helps offset a portion of the approximately $1,100 in veterinary expenses Crazy4Pawz Animal Rescue is covering for his care. Duke is clean, freshly groomed, has had his nails trimmed, and we're currently working on lightening his tear stains. Crazy4Pawz Animal Rescue is a 100% volunteer-run and foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. We do not receive government funding and rely on adoption fees and donations to continue saving lives. To ensure the best possible match, all applicants must: - Complete an Interest Form - Participate in a phone interview - Pass a home check - Agree to a 5-day trial period We want Duke's next home to be his forever home. If, during the trial period, you determine that Duke is not the right fit for your family, your $250 adoption fee will be refunded.
