This gorgeous girl is Austen, who (given her known) parentage is likely a Maine Coon/Domestic Mix. Her mother is a Calico kitty lady cat and her father was a big-boned, fluffy gray gentleman who sadly recently succumbed to the dangers of the neighborhood in which he lived. While not a novelist like Jane Austen her namesake, this Austen has a story that reads like an Austen novel. Born on the streets, Austen and her four siblings, struggled to survive and, without the help of their feeder/benefactor, they likely would not have survived. The neighborhood in which Austen lived was overrun by stray cats who were subjected to the ugliness of those unsympathetic to their plight, who at times deliberately sought to run them over and set out poison. Austen became a member of my rescue brood on July 17, 2024. While initially very shy and apprehensive Austen and her siblings became more and more outgoing as they realized they were safe. Daily feedings twice a day were a huge part of gaining their trust. Austen eagerly accepted my friendship, enjoying not only her tasty meals but also enjoying being petted, responding with pirouettes, purrs and happy chattering. Toys became an integral part of her life. Cattasauruses were a much coveted kitty accoutrement, as was the bird's nest chair and the Frisco condo placed in the window of her room. Her white whiskers and white eyelashes seem to stretched for miles. Austen also has white lashes on the inside of her front legs. With her white bib, white mitts, her white mustache on the right side of her face combined with her deep gold eyes and sleek black coat make her a stunner. Spayed, rabies and distemper vaccinated, combo tested negative for feline leukemia and feline immunodeficiency virus;she is also microchipped, Austen is ready for me as her matchmaker to find her the purrfect adopter. If interested in becoming this beautiful kitty girl's person, please feel free to reach out to me. She would love to be adopted with one of her siblings. I do, when possible, like to receive a vet reference for potential adopters.
