BDRA is an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) charity that accepts no fees when helping individuals or other rescues. 100% of donations go directly to the care of the animals. If you'd like to help us continue our mission, please donate at: https://www.blinddogrescue.org/donate-1. Name: Miley Age: DOB 01/09/2025 Breed: Goldendoodle, 40 pounds Sex: Female (not spayed) Location: New Castle County, Delaware Miley is having issues with the other dog in the home and needs a new home. Vet Info: Miley is not spayed, and does not have a microchip. Miley is believed to be born in a puppy mill. It is also believed that Miley was born blind - cause unknown. She may have some slight vision in one eye but she has not seen an Ophthalmologist. Miley is current with her vaccinations but has not had a heartworm test. Dog Info: Miley was adopted by owner at 8 weeks. Owner was not informed that Miley was blind. Owner believes that Miley was born in a puppy mill and the 'breeder' just wanted to get rid of her. Miley is an indoor dog with the run of the house. She is housebroken but not leash trained. She knows the commands: Sit, treat and paw but has not had any formal training. Miley is good with men and women. She has not had any experience with children but there is a child care right next door and Miley does not seem to be bothered by those children. There is a possibility that she will be fine with children but best not to expose her to young children. Owner has two cats and a dog. Other dog is a Chihuahua that is very protective of the owner and will bark and snap at Miley. Miley becomes very fearful and has started snapping. Both the Chihuahua and owner have been bitten. Miley is a sweet, playful, happy go lucky dog when the Chihuahua is not around. She also gets along fine with the two cats. It is very possible that Miley would get along with non-reactive dogs but she is possessive of treats, toys and food. Miley must be fed in a separate area. Miley is strong, has a good appetite and is overall healthy. She loves to play catch and keep away and would probably thrive in a home with no other dogs or kids. If she were to go to a home with dogs or kids, patience with acclimating her would be needed and completely separate feeding from other pets and kids. **Owner Surrender Disclaimer: These are blind and visually. impaired dogs who are living in homes, but their owners can no longer keep them.
