About River

River is a 2-year-old female rottweiler. Birthday March 12, 2024. She was spayed after 2 heats is up to date on her vaccinations and is chipped. She is fed 'The Farmers Dog' as a topper with 'Nature's Recipe', or 'Bill Jack for large dog breads' (she will be re-homed with whatever food is left for a smooth transition). Her tail has not been docked. She recently needed surgery on her impacted/infected anal gland, therefore will need continued monthly annal glad hygiene. She is very happy, healthy, silly, snuggly, smart, love her walks, and car rides. She loves to play fetch, tug game, knows lots of commands/tricks (can share/show them when contacted and go over them if you like) is crate trained (loves her den), and is happy to chew on her bone to decompress. We have two indoor cats that she wants to play with, but the cats do not share her playful enthusiasm. She is also very protective of her person. She has become reactive in certain situation, including to the teens in the house when they play fight, dance around or behave with big motions around River. She will then jump, bark, and nip. She has a strong prey drive, and has killed our chicken, and rabbits. She is working hard on keeping her nose, and paws off the counter when there are yummy things that might be snacks for her (there not for her, she would like us to think so, but no). She would be very content with someone who can give her lots of one-on-one time, get her out and 'work' off her big energy, have patience with her reactivity, and have the experience to work with her on correcting that behavior. River is very loved, this decision to find her another home did not come easy to us and is with a heavy heart. We would like for her to go to her new home with her crate, bed and blanket, some of her toys, and her bones for easier transition.
