About Missy

Adoption Fee: $25
Domestic Cat
Age: Young Adult
Sex: Female

Missy is a cat we inherited when my MIL passed. My MIL was unfortunately a hoarder, and this affected Missys development from a kitten to an adult cat. Missy struggles with anxiety, attachment, and using the bathroom on soft things left on the floor (obviously not optimal when we have a baby). As long as nothing is on your floor, and your litter box remains clean Missy uses the litter box, although she does like to scratch at the litter heavily. Missy has used top loading, regular, and automatic catboxes and will adjust fine to whatever you choose. Missy has also had no issues with any brand of cat food we have fed her. We do not have the funds to support Missy in the way she needs. Missy has had 3 litters before with my MIL, but is now a fixed kitty. Missy has symptoms of heat, but has been opened TWICE, she is fixed. We believe this is behavioral and through our vets advice decided not to pursue further testing/look for a hidden ovary. Missy is on the heavier end of weight for her size but is a larger kitty and not quite overweight. Missy lived with a large dog with my MIL. Missy likes to be the dominant cat in the house, but does well with our other cat, and has adjusted to other dogs she is around frequently. Missy is friendly with children. Missy is a a very affectionate cat, and takes some time to adjust. Due to anxiety when put in stressful situations Missy tends to drool and twitch her tail. She adjusts within a week. Missy does not like to be picked up, and she is very much a lap cat. Missy will also brush her mouth along you, I would describe as a way to itch her teeth? This appears to be another habit according to the vet. Due to our sons needs in the house we do not have the time or funds to help reassure Missy in the way she needs. Please reach out if you feel you could provide her a more stable environment or know of someone that can. Due to her behaviors I do not feel she will do well being taken to a human society. I only have one cat carrier at the moment so if you have youre own that would be helpful!
