Microchipped Seeking a Child-Free Home for Our 5-Year-Old Shepherd/Pit Mix This is one of the hardest decisions our family has ever had to make. We are looking to rehome our 5-year-old shepherd/pit mix to an experienced owner in a home with absolutely no children and preferably no other dogs. We have had her since she was a puppy and she has been a beloved member of our family. Unfortunately, when our oldest child was an infant, she bit him. We worked extensively to manage the situation and prevent any future incidents. For the last four years, there had been no issues. However, today she bit the same child again, this time causing a significant injury to his lip. With another baby now in the home and a renewed cycle of aggression toward our children, we can no longer safely keep her. This decision is being made out of love for both our children and our dog. We do not want to place her in a shelter, and we believe she can thrive in the right environment-one that is calm, structured, and free of children. She would do best with an experienced dog owner who understands behavior management and is willing to give her the attention and structure she needs. We would prefer a home where she is the only pet, though the right situation may be considered. Please message me if you are seriously interested, have experience with dogs of this nature, and can provide a safe, loving, child-free home. We will be selective about placement because her safety and the safety of others are our top priorities.
