About Heather

Heather's Mom was turned in stray and pregnant to the county shelter in Georgia. Our rescue pulled her from the shelter and received the surprise of six additional stowaways. Mom is already placed in her new home and the puppies will turn 10 weeks on 6/6/2026. They have been DNA tested and adopters will get a copy of those results. They are up to date on vaccines, deworming and fecal exams and will be microchipped and tested for liver shunt before going to their new homes. The first day they will be available for adoption will be 6/6/26. There will be an adoption contract and will only be placed 3 to 4 hours of Cary, North Carolina. Spay/Neuter will not be done at the time of adoption but the cost will be covered when they reach an appropriate age for surgery. This is not a good breed for an apartment so adopters must have a house with an appropriate area for the puppy to exercise that is fenced. Adopter must provide references and allow for a premise visit prior to adoption. Violet had her performer trick dog and worked as our organization's spokeshound for most of her life. She passed last November and I miss her every day. Heather's white markings and big flashy white feet are almost identical to Violet. She is happy and active and loves learning and doing things. Whoever adopts Heather will get a very special hound. And no! I am not keeping her!
