Hi, my name is Duke ��ժ I'm 3 years old, built like a linebacker ��%8F�, and apparently convinced I'm a lap dog. I don't really understand personal space when it comes to people I love ��ե If you sit down, there is a very good chance I will slowly back my whole body into you for scratches and then somehow end up halfway in your lap like it's the most normal thing in the world ���� I've been told I'm a really good boy a lot lately, and I think I'm finally starting to believe it ��%A4� Life hasn't always been easy for me ���� When the rescue saved me, I was really sick ��%A4� with pneumonia and needed a lot of care. But nobody gave up on me �ٴ� People loved me through it, stayed gentle with me, and showed me that humans can be safe. Because of that, I trust hard now. The kind of trust where I look at you like you hung the moon ��Ϊ just for handing me a leash. I'm feeling SO much better these days and ready for my forever home ���S One where I can keep learning that the world is good and soft places are meant for napping ���%A4 Here are a few important facts about me ��� �'ۢ I know 'sit' and 'no' because when I listen, I get treats �'ۢ I love my crate and think of it as my little apartment ��%8F� �'ۢ I don't chew things up or throw tantrums when left alone �'ۢ I get excited for walks ��%90%BE �'ۢ I love other dogs and would happily play tug-of-war for my entire career �'ۢ Chicken is incredible ��%8D� �'ۢ Hot dogs ���� absolutely not. Keep those weird little tubes away from me. I'm sweet in that quiet, sincere kind of way ��ե The kind that leans against your leg while you cook dinner just to make sure you're still there. The kind that watches you with soft eyes ���'� because being loved still feels a little unbelievable sometimes. I'd do best with someone who understands big breeds and will keep being patient with me while I settle into my new life. Cats are still a mystery ��%A4� to me though, so I can't give an official opinion there. The rescue already took care of all my medical stuff, so I come medical debt-free ���� All I have left to worry about now is finding my person. Maybe it's you? ��ժ��%90%BE
