About Luke

I'm posting on behalf of Luke's owners, who are seeking to rehome him due to a recent serious medical diagnosis. They're hoping to find him a loving, stable home where he can continue to thrive. Luke and his sister Leia (also available on Rescue Me! ID: 26-06-03-00309) have always been together, and keeping them together would be wonderful, but they could be separated if necessary. I found Luke and Leia as stray puppies dumped on a friend's farm three years ago and they were adopted by their current owners directly from me. He's since grown up in a loving home, has been socialized, and has enjoyed life with both his sister and another dog. Luke is the more mellow and affectionate of the two siblings. He absolutely loves people and enjoys being close to his humans. He's sweet, playful, and gentle, though he can be a little skittish with unfamiliar things at first. Luke is especially sensitive to rain and storms, but he does very well wearing a ThunderShirt (which he comes with). He hasn't been around children, but he would likely be shy rather than aggressive and has never shown any biting behavior. He may bark initially at something that startles or worries him. We're also unsure how he would do with cats, though he did grow up next to a neighborhood cat who liked to tease the dogs from the other side of the fence. Luke rides well in the car and is crate trained, dog-door trained, and electronic-collar trained. He also completed a professional dog training camp. Luke will come with his collapsible crate, bed, individual crate mat, bowl, collar, leash, training collars (both electronic and slip collars), as well as toys and chews.
