I adopted Colbie from the LA North Central Shelter in April 2026. He has been in and out of the shelter for a few years. After a few weeks, I got Colbie's DNA results back, and he is 50% Belgian Malinois. It confirms a lot for me, knowing now I am never going to be able give him the mental and physical stimulation he deserves with my work schedule limitations. Colbie is perfectly trained as he just came home from 5 weeks at board and train. He is crate trained, incredibly intelligent, willing to please, and follows commands perfectly. What he needs is a VERY active family who maybe works from home, or has the ability to take him on daily long walks/runs/hikes. Sitting in a crate at my house during the day is not going to make him happy long term. He had some separation anxiety which he is working through well with his training. While he can come to work with me, none of this is what he will need to thrive. He is 3-4 years old, 70ish pounds, good with other dogs (although plays hard) and kids. I've never seen him around a cat, but if he treats them like he does squirrels then probably shouldn't live with them. He had his blood work and vaccinations done recently and he is very healthy. He is really the sweetest boy and it kills that I am not his person. I'm just glad I can help him get to be in his best forever situation. Adoption fee includes crate.
