About Pickles

We have had Pickles since she was about 7 months old. She is a super sweet girl with a huge need and desire to be touched and pet. Her first 7 months of life she was crated most of the day in an apartment. She is excellent with our two rambunctious kids ages 5 & 10. Unfortunately Pickles has attacked our other family dog Anna 4 times. Once was food driven and we learned quick to remove that as an option, feeding them in separate rooms, bowls put away after they are done etc. The 3 other attacks that to our knowledge have been unwarranted and she has left gaping holes in Annas head, neck and legs. The last fight happened this past Saturday. Kids are on couch watching a movie and Pickles attacked Anna and I struggled to separate them getting bitten in the action by Anna. Anna has injuries and Pickles has a small cut on her snout close to her right eye. There was so much blood with the two dogs bleeding and myself. Our kids are terrified of Anna or Pickles being together and we have to keep Pickles crated most of the day now and only let them go pottie separately. Pickles was just spayed last week, Wednesday. We hoped that spaying her would calm her down and I know its too soon to really see the results. She has been barking at John my husband and has had her cackles raised anytime she sees Anna. On Monday evening one of the boys had accidentally let Anna out of the room and she ran behind me to hide and when I turned around Pickles had teeth out and cackles raised. I had to use the garbage can to push her away and called her to load up in her kennel. She is such a lover. Our hearts are broken as we have to make this decision. She has been with us on several vacations and her and Anna got along just find for the first 9 months or so. My husband is taking her to the pound on Friday or Saturday as his schedule from work permits. We know that with her current history this is probably a death sentence. I came across this page and was hoping someone could help.
