Amyrlin arrived at the shelter on May 11th as a stray, about only 13 months old. She is a stressed, confused, scared baby. Is a mix of 2 breeds, Husky and Shepherd, that are so not made to be kenneled almost 24/7, most of the time alone, as happens at the shelter. The breeds need appropriate exercise, mental stimulation, routine, social interaction, ..., otherwise become increasingly stressed. Tragically, since the shelter is unable to provide adequate amounts of the aforementioned, puts her at increased risk, more than the typical, of being euthanized, specifically, 'humanely' euthanized for mental distress. She is showing signs of stress due to the aforementioned, on top of her body showing, she has been through some rough times (marks that are healing). When given time, Amyrlin does accept love and pets from the volunteers. They report seeing glimpses of a really sweet girl hiding under her environmental nervousness. Has had a leash test with a female dog, in which she had her tail moderately tucked, mostly stayed by or behind the volunteer, but did once approach the other doggie, so there is potential for living with a resident dog, with slow, well-intentioned introduction. Resident dog can meet her, if decide to adopt or foster. Amyrlin desperately needs out of the shelter, needs a loving, patient home, which can help her let her guard down at her own pace, help her feel safe, loved, and provide what she needs as a breed. Please, if can provide that, contact this page, be this baby's hero. Amyrlin can also be fostered, besides adopted. Come.
