Leo came into our lives as a stray who showed up at my parents' home looking for a safe place to stay. Unfortunately, we don't know much about his past, but I took him to our local vet to check for a microchip and none was found. Since no owner ever came forward, I decided to take him in and give him a loving home. At first, I tried keeping Leo indoors full time, but it quickly became clear that he truly loves being outside. He would sit by the door and meow, wanting to explore and enjoy the outdoors. Wanting him to still be safe and comfortable, we built him a catio where he could relax outside while still being protected. Leo is happiest when he has fresh air, space to roam, and things to explore. He has strong hunting instincts and is an excellent mouser. He has caught mice and even baby possums, so I believe he would thrive in a farm, barn, or country setting where his natural instincts and outdoor personality would be appreciated. Although he prefers outdoor living, Leo has spent time indoors and does very well. He loves exploring the house, hiding under tables and chairs, and even watching TV. He is litter trained and has good manners around feeding time. He knows his name and has learned to patiently wait for his food. Leo is also incredibly loving and affectionate. He enjoys cuddling up next to you for naps and loves relaxing close to his people once he feels comfortable. He has a sweet, calm side that makes him a wonderful companion. Leo currently gets along well with Luna, though it took him some time to warm up to her. Once comfortable, he became very relaxed around her. I'm unsure how he would do with other dogs or cats, but with patience and proper introductions, he may adapt well. He eats both kibble and wet food, enjoys treats, and is currently on flea prevention. I will also provide all of his remaining food, supplies, flea preventative, and anything else I have for him when he is rehomed. Leo is an independent, intelligent, and charming cat looking for the right home. Ideally one where he can safely enjoy the outdoors while still receiving the love and care he deserves.
