About BUTTERCUP

BUTTERCUP is a 1 1/2 year old, 13 pound Chihuahua mix who came to us after her owner was no longer able to keep her. She was pregnant when she was surrendered and she was a wonderful mama to her four puppies, all of whom have recently been adopted. Now it is finally BUTTERCUP's turn to find a loving forever family of her own. BUTTERCUP is a sweet easy going girl. She absolutely loves being with her person and would happily spend her days cuddled up beside you. She is affectionate, loyal, and would make a wonderful companion dog. She enjoys lounging near her people and likes to lie on the back of the couch in her foster home. She can be a little vocal when visitors first arrive at the home and may bark while figuring out new people, but she settles down. Otherwise, she is a fairly quiet and happy girl. BUTTERCUP gets along well with all of the dogs in her foster home and enjoys being part of the group, but she would also do well as an only dog where she could soak up all the attention. Since her puppies were only recently adopted, she has not shown much interest in toys yet, although she does enjoy chew toys. BUTTERCUP knows how to use the dog door and uses the steps to get on the bed and couch. She is doing very well with potty training and goes outside with the other dogs, although she still occasionally uses a potty pad in the bedroom. At night, BUTTERCUP loves sleeping under the covers cuddled up next to her person. BUTTERCUP is spayed, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
