About Falafel-FOSTER NEEDED!

At risk, as every rescuable/adoptable dog there is, of being euthanized when the shelter gets over-capacity, due to need for space. URGENT need for foster parent or foster to adopt!!! Falafel is heartworm positive and may possibly have some orthopedic needs (has to be evaluated by a specialist which not offered at the shelter). He is not showing symptoms of the heartworm at this time, so prognosis is good as long as starts treatment, as in now, near future. Cannot get treated at the shelter as the treatment requires greater monitoring than it can provide & needs to be kept as calm as possible for few months during/after treatment. Rescue org. one would foster through, covers all medical costs, besides the usual (food, doggie toys...). These homeless, wonderful doggies are not throw-aways, they matter, Falafel matters!!! He is a very, very good boy, on the smaller side/under 30 pounds. Is very affectionate, loves his treats, has a good sit, walks well on leash. Did well while meeting another doggie on leash. If have a resident dog, all one would need to do is make sure to keep up with a monthly heartworm preventive, which should be done anyway, during Falafel's treatment in order for it to not spread to the resident dog via mosquito bite to bite. The chance of such an event occurring, bite to bite, is miniscule, but with a preventive, that concern is removed from the equation. Please, please consider fostering Falafel, he needs to desperately start his heartworm treatment!!! It is heartbreaking to think of him sitting mostly all alone in his kennel without being provided with the treatment that can allow him to live to a ripe old age, a healthy one!!!
