About Kairo

Kairo ('Ky-Row') is a Pitsky (Pit Bull/Husky mix) who was rescued from an animal clinic in Murfreesboro, TN. He is crate trained, potty trained, and has been a loved member of our family. He is a very loving, sweet, and affectionate dog who enjoys being around his people and receiving attention. Since joining us, he has lived with children ages 2, 6, and 14, as well as other dogs. He has generally done well with our family and has had a great relationship with his German Shepherd companion. Unfortunately, Kairo has recently shown concerning behavior, including biting our dachshund and our 2-year-old child. He has also displayed resource-guarding tendencies around high-value items such as food, treats, and rawhides. Because of these incidents, we do not feel we can safely meet his needs in a home with young children. We are seeking a loving, experienced home that can provide structure and careful management. Kairo may do best in a home without small children and with an owner familiar with resource-guarding behaviors. Despite the incidents mentioned above, he is otherwise a very sweet, loving dog, and our goal is to find the right environment where he can be safe, successful, and thrive.
