About GORDY

GORDY is a 1 year old, 18 pound Terrier mix who was surrendered to us when his owner was no longer able to care for him. GORDY is such a good boy and has settled into foster care beautifully. He loves attention, head rubs, and being near his people, sometimes rewarding them with a quick little smooch of appreciation. He enjoys a calm, peaceful environment and is learning more every day just how wonderful life as an inside dog can be. One of his favorite things is stretching out in the yard and soaking up the sunshine. GORDY gets along well with other dogs and mostly pays them no mind unless another dog gets too much in his personal space. He would do well either as an only dog or with another laid back canine companion. We do not know how he would do with cats. We Have not had him around kids but we think he would do well with them. GORDY is doing very well with potty training when kept on a consistent routine and happily uses the doggy door on his own. He is still learning leash skills and is not quite confident on a lead yet, so a fenced yard would be best for him. At night, GORDY sleeps in a comfy dog bed beside the big bed so he can keep an eye on his people, though he has not shown much interest in sleeping in the bed himself. GORDY is neutered, up to date on shots, heartworm negative, has had a ProHeart 12 heartworm prevention shot, and is microchipped with a lifetime registration. *To meet or adopt one of our dogs, you must first submit an adoption application for review. Important - check your spam folder for follow up questions and responses from our team. *A Place of Hope Rescue is a foster-based rescue located in Pensacola, Florida. We do not have a physical facility for visits. We adopt within a 6 hour drive to Pensacola. Puppies and dogs with pending vet appointments, and dogs with behavioral or medical issues are only adoptable locally (within 1 hour to Pensacola). We do not ship or transport our dogs.
