Meet Hazel! Foster or adopter needed anywhere in the Northeast. Currently stuck in a kennel in New Jersey. Hazel isn't the dog everyone will line up for - and that's exactly why she needs someone special to see her. At 5 years old and around 60 lbs, Hazel is looking for a quiet, adult-only home where life is calm, structured, and predictable. She is not a fit for homes with children of any age. About Hazel: House trained, %BD' Crate trained, Loves toys & bones, Strong personality with lots of potential, Needs time to decompress in new environments, Best when allowed to sniff and explore first, Hazel has only been in the car once and can be a little restless, so she'll need patience as she gains confidence. Hazel is currently an extreme leash puller and needs a physically capable adopter or foster committed to structure, consistency, and continued training. She is strong, enthusiastic, and can become overstimulated easily. Recently, Hazel has also shown some mouthy behavior when overly excited. Because of this, she needs an experienced adult-only home that understands boundaries, redirection, and dog behavior. With other dogs, Hazel appears to be more dog selective than truly dog aggressive. Proper introductions and the right match will be extremely important. A calm, respectful dog may be a fit. No cats. Hazel is not a beginner dog. She's the kind of dog that needs someone willing to slow down, be patient, and truly understand her. But underneath all of that? There's a dog who wants stability, guidance, and someone who won't give up on her. Hazel is currently kenneled in New Jersey and desperately deserves a chance to decompress in a real home. Foster or adopter needed anywhere in the Northeast.
