About Duke

Duke is a rescue that we rescued from a neglectful home 3yrs ago. He was heartworm positive and malnourished (from being fed only table scraps). He went through the heartworm treatment and got neutered and has had annual shots and wormer that is up to date ever since. He has anxiety of storms and heights and food scarce anxiety. He is scared each meal is his last, this means he needs to be fed away from other dogs as he likes to give warning growls at them but has never acted on it. He is very loyal and submissive and listens to all commands. Would make an amazing emotional support dog. Loves kids and all humans! He ignores other animals and focuses on his humans. He has never had an accident inside the house and needs to be an inside dog with occasional time outside. He does not cope well with being an outside dog due to his previous home of being locked in a kennel 24/7. He also cannot be crated or kenneled as he gets anxious and upset and tries to escape. He is groomed every 4-6wks and does great with them. He loves attention and gets jealous so possibly a home with only him or one other dog but is good with other dogs so it's not a must have thing.
