We are looking to rehome our beloved 40lb heeler mix after 8 years together, and this has been an incredibly difficult decision for our family. He has been deeply loved and cared for his entire life and has only ever lived in a quiet home with just my husband and me. He is loyal, smart, playful, and thrives when he has structure, exercise, and a calm environment. Since welcoming our baby, we've noticed that he has become much more anxious and reactive, and we've had a couple of close calls related to his behavior. Because of this, we no longer feel that our current home is the right fit for him, and we want to do what is safest and best for everyone involved, including him. He would do best in an adult-only home with an experienced dog owner who understands working breeds and can provide him with consistent exercise, patience, and a low-stimulation environment. He is not a dog for busy households or homes with a lot of visitors, but in the right setting, he can be an incredibly loving and devoted companion. Our priority is finding the right home, not rushing the process. We are happy to answer questions honestly and share more about his personality, routines, and needs with serious inquiries
