About Hoya

Hoya is a 3-year-old neutered male Cattle Dog mix with a social, affectionate personality and an adventurous spirit! This handsome boy came to us as a stray, but you'd never know it by how quickly he bonds with people. Hoya is an absolute love bug who adores affection and is always ready to hand out hugs to anyone willing to accept them. He is wonderful on leash and truly enjoys going for walks, making him an excellent companion for someone who enjoys being active outdoors. Hoya is treat motivated, gentle when taking treats, and eager to please, which makes him both enjoyable and easy to work with. He loves meeting new dogs his own size and has shown himself to be very social and friendly with compatible canine companions. Hoya has done well sharing space with dogs his size, though he does not seem to care for smaller dogs, especially intact males. Because of this, we recommend a home with medium to large dogs only, or as the only pet where he can soak up all the attention himself. Behaviorally, Hoya has shown excellent manners. He displayed no resource guarding with food and was very respectful during toy handling. When asked to give up a toy, he initially tried to walk away with it rather than argue over it, and by the second request he willingly dropped it. He is a thoughtful, communicative dog who responds well to calm guidance and structure. If you are looking for a loyal adventure buddy who is affectionate, social, and full of personality, Hoya may be the perfect fit for your family. He's ready for a forever home where he can enjoy long walks, dog friends his size, and plenty of love. **Not doing well in kennel setting! URGENT**
