About Boots

This is Boots. He is one of 5 puppies that I rescued from my road that someone dumped them out on at the end of March. They were covered in fleas and malnourished with no other signs of neglect or abuse. I have had them for about a month and a half and they are now wormed and treated for fleas and ticks. I got their vaccinations on 5/24/2026 and their check up came back good with no problems found. They are probably a Catahoula or Cur mix, but I am not sure of their breed and neither was the vet. He did say that they would get to about 50 or 60 pounds and were about four months old though. I am trying to find them a good home that they will be loved in as I will not be able to take care of them in the long term. My family is having a lot of health problems and I already have one dog that I rescued from our road that I have taken in full time about two years ago. Boots is the playful and mischievous one of the group that likes to play keep away with you or his siblings. He is the runt of the litter and the last one that I managed to catch. I don't think that he will be as big as his siblings do to his current size. He is also a watch dog for the the group like his sister Skinnie, and will let you know if there is anything there that he thinks shouldn't be there. He is very friendly, calm, and wants to be petted particularly when you first get up. He is the most independent of the bunch and will go off on his own to explore when he feels like it. He gets along very well with my other dog and parents, but has not been around children or cats. He is curious about the chickens, but hasn't chased them like his sisters have. He did not display any aggressive behavior when I took him to the vet and there were children there, but he didn't interact with them. He leads well, comes when called, and will sit if you have a treat. As the day wears on, however, he will get stubborn and not want to come as readily. He does chew some, but the least out of the group and I think that it is just him teething. I want to find him a loving family so that he can have the happy life that he deserves.
