About Grendel

This is Grendel. She is one of 5 puppies that I rescued from my road that someone dumped them out on at the end of March. They were covered in fleas and malnourished with no other signs of neglect or abuse. I have had them for about a month and a half and they are now wormed and treated for fleas and ticks. I got their vaccinations on 5/24/2026 and their check up came back good with no problems found. They are probably a Catahoula or Cur mix, but I am not sure of their breed and neither was the vet. He did say that they would get to about 50 or 60 pounds and were about four months old though. I am trying to find them a good home that they will be loved in as I will not be able to take care of them in the long term. My family is having a lot of health problems and I already have one dog that I rescued from our road that I have taken in full time about two years ago. Grendel is the leader of the group and the one that the others follow around. She is brindle in color with white feet. She is very sweet one on one with people and likes to get in your lap if she is the only one around. She leads pretty well on a leash, knows her name, and will come to me when called. She has not displayed any aggressive behavior to my other dog or my parents, but I have not had her around children to tell how she will handle them. She has never been around cats that I am aware of. She does not like our chickens, however, and would chase them if they were out at the same time as her. She is calm and not very rowdy, but she does like to wonder around and explore with her siblings when she is bored. She will play and what little time I have had to work with her she was learning to sit and lie down with treats. She is very loving to me when the others are busy, but is watchful of her surroundings when the others are interacting with me. She does like to chew on things, though, so be mindful of what you leave laying around! The local shelters are all full and no one could take her in. I just want her to have a good loving home to grow up in. Thank you for you time and your interest.
