Annie is an exceptional foster and a total heart-stealer. She has been with us for the past 3 months after we took her in from another foster family, largely because we know and love this breed well and felt confident giving her the structure she needed to thrive. Annie came to us underweight and now is nearly 40 pounds, and since then she has absolutely blossomed. She has completed both obedience and agility training and is incredibly well-behaved. Annie knows a long list of commands, is eager to learn, and is one of the sweetest dogs we've ever met. She is affectionate in the gentlest way, happiest curled up beside you on the couch, or better yet, directly on top of you for a nap. Since being in our care, Annie has been spayed, microchipped, and had two severely infected teeth removed, all of which have helped her feel her best and settle comfortably into home life. Annie is extremely athletic with a very high play drive. She loves playing ball, trail running, swimming, and catching bubbles like it's her full-time job. She is not food or toy aggressive and has done very well in our home. While she gets along nicely with other calm, non-reactive dogs, Annie would truly thrive as the only dog in the home where she can fully bond with and devote herself to her person. She is quiet overall, rarely barks, but makes the funniest little chirping sounds instead, which somehow makes her even more charming. Annie is bright, intuitive, and honestly she may be smarter than our other Heeler, which is saying something. She is the kind of dog who makes herself unforgettable. Smart, loyal, athletic, affectionate, and deeply devoted, Annie is going to make someone an incredible companion.
