Bruno has been part of our family, but we were not his original owners. Unfortunately, his previous owner neglected him by keeping him isolated in a room most of the time with very little exercise, socialization, or interaction. After the owner left, Bruno was surrendered to us and we've been trying to find him a proper home ever since. Bruno is loving and relaxed with the people and dogs he knows. He lives peacefully with our two dogs, is submissive with them, and has never harmed anyone in our large household. However, he struggles heavily with new people and unfamiliar dogs, which can lead to fear-based aggression. We also believe the shock collar used by his previous owner worsened these behaviors. He would do best in a calm, structured home with an experienced owner who understands reactive dogs and is committed to continued training and slow introductions. A home without small children may be the safest environment for him while he continues to build confidence and trust. Bruno thrives once he feels secure with someone and has shown that he can be affectionate, loyal, and gentle in the right setting. He needs an experienced, patient owner willing to work with him and give him the stability he never had. Sadly, if we cannot find Bruno the right home, euthanasia may become the only remaining option. This is our final attempt to give him the second chance he deserves.
