We had gotten him to be a service dog for my husband who is a 100% disabled veteran. Turns out we can't afford the medical on him as we were told he was perfectly healthy when we got him and he isn't. He has old heartworm scars in the heart but no heartworm. He had kennel cough in the shelter in Houston Texas but did not have it when we got him however he does have bacterial infection in his lungs which we've been giving antibiotics for. That's probably about gone. We do not know if anything else is wrong because we cannot afford the testing. I have put $100 adoption fee to make sure he goes to a home that can afford to take him to the veterinarian and have him cared for and give him the best forever home. He does not get along with large male dogs or really any male dogs because he was used to charge up fight dogs before a fight in Texas is what they believe we do not know that for sure. He gets along okay with small dogs and females. He does not like cats at all. His friendly with all adults and children although he does like to play and jump up and therefore would not recommend small children because he may knock them down trying to play. As you can see in the photo he is a very loving boy and a very good dog and housebroken. He will give paws, sit on command and come. And definitely loves his treats. He was underweight when we got him he is now 63 lb. He is a fawn brindle with light brown eyes. Please help us keep this boy alive he is facing euthanization if we cannot find somewhere for him. A rescue would be highly preferable to ensure Medical Care and a good forever home. In that case I would waive the adoption fee for sure. If I can't find somewhere for this sweet boy he will have to be euthanized which is what we saved him from. Please help. All rescues in our area are full the shelter will not take him here even though it's no kill because he is not completely well. We even had a rescue tell us to put him down because they're full and everybody's full. This is our last ditch effort to try and save this sweet boy and we are begging for someone's help to do so. If you are a rescue or a staffy Sanctuary please reach out. We do not know what he is mixed with although we believe it is lab or something like that because of the shape of his muzzel and the dulap that hangs on the side a bit more than what a Staffordshire Terrier would have and he's quite leggy.
