About Duff

Duff is an almost 2-year-old Great Dane with a giant personality and an even bigger heart. He has the playful energy of a husky but loves to cuddle at bedtime and nap by the fireplace. Duff is affectionate, loyal, and thrives on being close to his people. He enjoys balls and durable horse toys, but plush toys don't stand a chance, so chew-proof options are a must. He knows basic commands including sit, stay, place, and release for food, and he responds well to structure and consistency. Duff does have some behavioral challenges - he is territorial in the home and can be reactive or aggressive when visitors or delivery drivers approach, and he becomes reactive toward other dogs on walks, though he has done well with female dogs. Because of this, he needs an experienced owner committed to continued training, a home with a yard, and ideally a household with older or no children and only female dogs if other pets are present. Duff is a loving 'project dog' who will thrive in a calmer home willing to invest time and patience into helping him feel secure and succeed.
