Digger Needs a Foster or Adopter by May 29 to Secure His Ride to Wisconsin Digger is currently in a kill shelter in Georgia and needs a foster or adopter to secure his spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 5/29. A committed home is required for him to make the trip north, and we are hopeful the right person is out there. Meet Digger Digger is a 2-year-old Retriever mix looking for a fresh start. He was surrendered to a kill shelter after his previous owners could no longer care for him. Despite the change in his life, Digger has remained a happy, easygoing dog with a fun and goofy personality. Digger does well with other dogs and has played with every male and female dog he has met. He is very adaptable and matches the play style of the dogs around him, whether that means roughhousing with playful dogs or being more gentle with calmer companions. He is more of a dominant male. He can be goofy and playful during dog playtime, but one-on-one he is much more mellow and enjoys lounging around. He knows several tricks including sit, high five, lay down, and roll over, showing just how smart and eager to engage he can be. He is not overly cuddly or attention-seeking, but he definitely enjoys snacks and is food motivated. Digger recently attended a parade and did an amazing job, handling the busy environment, crowds, and activity with ease. He also did great around kids at the event. While he is not a big fan of little kids hanging or climbing on him (Who does??), older respectful children would be a better fit for him. He also loves water and would likely enjoy an active adopter that can include him in outdoor adventures while still appreciating his mellow side. Age: About 2 years Gender: Male Weight: 60 lbs Breed: Retriever mix / Flat Coat Retriever mix (best guess) Spayed/Neutered: Yes Potty Trained: Likely yes Crate Trained: Likely yes Leash Manners: Good Good with Dogs: Yes Good with Cats: Unsure Good with Kids: Older respectful kids preferred Digger is ready to leave shelter life behind and start his next chapter. He would love a foster or adoptive home to help make that happen.
