Garbanzo is a 12 lb apricot Maltipoo (Maltese x Poodle) who has been with our family since he was just a few weeks old. We named him Garbanzo because he looked like a little garbanzo bean as a puppy, and almost 4 years later, he's still the same lovable little guy. About Garbanzo: Almost 4 years old (still a young dog with lots of life ahead) 12 lbs, apricot coat Neutered Hypoallergenic and non-shedding Fully up to date on vaccinations (complete medical records will be provided) Personality: Garbanzo is a cuddle machine. He wants to be close to his humans as much as possible - on your lap during movie nights, under your chair while you work, right next to you wherever you are. He loves people and forms strong bonds with his family. He's great with kids. Our children have grown up alongside him, and even when they've been a bit rough during play, he has never shown any aggression - just playfulness. He loves a good game of tag or fetch. He's also lived alongside cats and other dogs without issues, so he does well in busy family environments. Training: House-trained Crate-trained Knows and responds to commands well Extremely treat-motivated (you can teach him just about anything with a few treats) Does not bite Comfortable being home alone without anxiety What You Should Know: I want to be upfront so the right home is the one that picks him up. He barks. He's quiet when he's just chilling at home, but a knock at the door, a stranger approaching on a walk, or a trip to the groomer will set him off. He is not aggressive and does not bite - he's just vocal. He marks. He loves to claim his territory by urinating. Good news: he does not mark inside the house. The issue shows up at the dog park, where he'll try to mark other dogs or people's belongings. A new owner should be ready to manage this. What's Included: His full medical and vaccination records, plus anything the new owner wants - bowls, crate, toys, bed, food, etc. I want him to land softly in his new home. Adoption Process: Adoption fee: $100. Maltipoos sell for up to $2,000 on the private market, and I'm setting a small fee purely as a filter - I want to make sure he goes to someone who actually understands what taking on a dog means, not someone looking for a freebie. Meet-and-greets welcome. I'd actually prefer it - I want to see that you and Garbanzo click before he goes home with you. Trial period available. If it's not a good fit, my door stays open. I would always take him back rather than have him end up somewhere he doesn't belong. I'd love to stay in touch with his new family - occasional updates, photos, that kind of thing. Not a requirement, just a hope. Looking to rehome by May 28th. If you have a calm, loving home with people who will give him the affection he craves and patience for his quirks, please reach out. Garbanzo is a special little dog, and I want to find him the right family.
