DISCLAIMER: Every effort is made to provide the most accurate representation of each shepherd. While I disclose all information provided to me, KnJs Shepherd Haven cannot guarantee the completeness of a Shepherd's prior history. I provide all known details in good faith to ensure a successful match. [Case opened on 5/18/26]. URGENT!!! AT RISK FOR SURRENDER/EUTHANIZATION! PLEASE HELP!!! Elkton, Michigan (willing to drive up to 5 hours). 4 Y/O FEMALE GSD (DOB: 4/18/22). Her name is 'Roxie'. Background: Has been with Current Shepherd Parent since puppyhood after being acquired from a friend. UTD on shots WITH record. Fixed. Good with kids - currently lives with children ages 6, 9, and 12. Good with dogs after proper introductions and warm-up time. Can be mouthy at first. NOT Good with cats. House trained. Crate trained but does not need it. Currently allowed on furniture and sleeps in bed with her person. Has excellent house behavior as long as she has her blanket and the TV on. Any known medical issues?: None known at this time. She does have an upcoming vet appointment to discuss possible anxiety medication needs due to recent life changes. Abuse/Neglect/Trauma History?: None disclosed. ENERGY LEVEL: Medium. PREY DRIVE LEVEL: Medium. Weighs 98 lbs. Currently on Pedigree food. Good with car rides?: Yes - loves car rides. Socialized with: *people?: Yes. *dogs?: Yes. Good with meeting new people? (ALWAYS USE PROPER INTRODUCTION!): Yes - she does very well meeting people OUTSIDE of the home first. Roxie is protective of her home, so proper introductions are extremely important. If you walk outside with her before entering the home, she settles and does great. Loves: Car rides, blankets, HER blankets, tail/chase games, treats, belly rubs, swimming, walks, chasing remote control cars, chasing balls, cuddling, chilling on the couch, playing with kids and dogs, fetch, sleeping in bed with her person, being near her person, stuffed animals, and soup bones. Important Behavior Notes: Very protective of her home and family. Thrives with routine and structure. Recent separation/divorce in the home has increased her protectiveness and anxiety. Would do best in a calmer environment with someone understanding of shepherd behaviors and anxiety. *Intelligent and knows Basic Commands?: This breed is super intelligent. *Good Recall? (ALWAYS RETRAIN BEFORE ALLOWING OFF LEASH): Yes. *Good on a Leash?: Yes. *Lovable?: This breed is super lovable once they claim you as their person/family. *Eager and fast learner?: This breed is super fast learners when they are being committed to and worked with. Bite History?: Yes - Current Shepherd Parent had a male friend enter the home without first walking outside with Roxie. Roxie nipped his hand. It was a very minor incident, no serious injury, no reports, and no action taken. Dog Incident History: Roxie also had a minor incident with a neighbor's dog resulting in a small ear scratch. No severe injuries occurred, but it has caused concern due to the neighborhood being heavily populated with dogs. NOTES FROM CURRENT SHEPHERD PARENT: Roxie is a great loving dog. She loves to lay in bed and cuddle, my shadow; wherever I am she needs to be right there. She absolutely loves walks and just being outdoors. She loves kids and when warmed up will play with other dogs, she has played with some when staying at kennels for times when i am on vacation. One of the best dogs I have had. Re Homing because'|: Current Shepherd Parent recently separated from her now ex-partner and is now managing three children alone. Due to all the major life changes and stress in the home, Roxie is becoming increasingly protective and is no longer getting the time, structure, and attention she truly needs to thrive. Current Shepherd Parent feels Re homing is in Roxie's best interest so she can have stability and someone able to work through her Anxieties and protectiveness appropriately. Roxie will be an amazing companion for the right person. Will thrive best'|?: In a loving, calm, structured home with someone experienced and understanding of shepherd behaviors and anxiety. No cats. Preferably not in a neighborhood full of dogs that could trigger her protective/reactive behaviors. Comes with: Collar, leash, crate, food, and toys. RehomingFee $175 .
