About Alfie: Foster me!

Meet Alfie! ��%90%BE Alfie is an approximately 10 year old, 21 lb schnauzer mix with one of the gentlest souls imaginable. He is looking for a foster or foster-to-adopt home in the Chicago area while he continues his medical journey. When Alfie first came into rescue as a stray from Chicago, we had honestly never seen anything quite like him. His body was covered in unusual bubble-like cysts hidden beneath severely matted fur, and it was clear he had been living uncomfortable and neglected for a very long time. Despite everything he has been through, Alfie has remained incredibly sweet, quiet, and grateful for kindness. He is an easy dog to have around and seems happiest simply relaxing near his people, sitting outside in the fresh air, or quietly following you around the house. The good news is that Alfie's cyst biopsy results came back BENIGN, which was a huge relief. He has also recently been neutered and had several masses removed as part of his ongoing medical care. Alfie does have: �'ۢ An enlarged heart �'ۢ A grade 4/6 heart murmur �'ۢ He is currently on Vetmedin Even with his medical needs, Alfie is a calm, loving companion who deserves a soft place to land after all he has endured. The rescue provides food, supplies, and medical care while he's being fostered.
