Autumn is a Boxer mix, 42 pounds, and 2-3 years old. She is a super star! Autumn came into a large shelter outside of Houston, Texas with a wiggly litter of 5 babies and an eye injury. She quickly became the shelter favorite due to her care of her babies and how happy she was inspite of her situation. The shelter director called Freedom Street to help her and her babies and we said yes! Her babies are all adopted and Autumn is hoping for her forever home now too. Autumn is a super affectionate cuddle-bug with a big personality. She's very expressive-when she really likes you, she'll give you a full-on 'helicopter tail' wag. She loves being close, will happily snuggle, and yes'| she may even sneak a silly 'French kiss' if you're talking up close. Autumn is professionally trained. Her foster parents adore her and know that her having one eye might limit her chances of adoption, so they paid for her to attend a one month boot camp with one of the best trainers in the area! Her trainer will do 2-3 phone calls with an adopter to help transfer skills to them. Autumn is playful and entertaining-she loves tug, does adorable zoomies, and will toss her toys in the air and chew on them (not destructive, though she may slowly de-stuff a plush). Autumn loves food, so her trainer and foster parents have taught her to wait for it and she has to sit pretty before eating. Autumn is treat and praise motivated and learns quickly. She knows sit, wait, leave it, down, drop it, and is working on longer stays. She's even learned fun tricks like spin, 'middle,' and paw, and she loves two-ball fetch (she'd play forever if you let her!). She enjoys car rides and doesn't get carsick. Good with dogs! Autumn only has one eye, but it doesn't slow her down at all-she runs around confidently and even watches TV! One of her funniest quirks: she loves 'bath time' in the walk-in shower because she tries to bite the water from the nozzle, and she'll even go back in later hoping for more. She also loves sunbathing on the back deck. She is spayed, micro-chipped and up to date on vaccines. She had an injury to her eye prior to coming into the shelter so it had to be removed. She is an amazing girl! Autumn is a sweet, funny, smart girl who will keep you smiling and feeling loved.
