Desperately seeking a new home for our cat Reese. One where he has access to all the canned food and freeze dried chicken he can eat in a day with an owner who has all the patience, time and energy to give him the attention he requires. Preferably someone who has experience with the Cheetoh, Bengal or Ocicat breeds. (Reese is a Cheetoh which is a Bengal/Ocicat mix). They are not your typical cat! He will be 4 years old at the end of June. He is neutered, up to date on his shots, and chipped. It's preferable that he either be on a farm or somewhere with a large backyard with a high fence far from a busy road, because he will find a way out or he will demand it!! This is a big part of why I'm trying to find him a new home. We have a hard time containing him. Our backyard butts up to a very busy main road and he crosses it. He wears an AirTag and we are able to track and retrieve him, but the worry never ends. These type of cats have a wild streak. When he wants out he will literally do whatever it takes to get out. I will admit that I don't have what it takes to control him. He will sometimes grab ahold of my legs or ankles and sometimes even nip at me. Not in a mean way, it's just his way to get my attention. This is another factor as to why he needs a new home. I have Type 1 diabetes and a cat scratch or bite could be very dangerous for me. Let me make clear that Reese is in no way a mean cat! He is very loving but he is overly playful and plays rough!! My granddaughter is a little love bug and she's always wanting to hug him but always tends to get scratched. Then there's my poor senior cat who just wants to sleep and he just wants to play which turns into fighting. He needs playmates but not a senior cat or a 2 year old child or an owner with diabetes. He was originally my son's cat. A friend was trying her hand at breeding and had 3 Cheetoh kittens she couldn't find homes for so he took one. Being a teenager at the time he realized how much time and money goes into caring for a pet of your own. I was quickly handed over the responsibility. I tried my best for 3+ years to give Reese everything he needed in the hopes he would calm down a bit and to want to be a fully indoor cat. I am defeated. You should know that when he was younger he had a couple instances where he peed on our sofa. We discovered he likes a really clean litter box. After purchasing a litter robot and using Furniture Protecting Pet Deterrent Training Mats for Cats and Dogs, he has not done it again. If anyone is interested you are aware of what you'll be getting into. He's a very good cat and loved beyond measure. This move is more for his happiness than ours. I will be donating a portion of the payment to Rescue Me.
