About Sweet Potato

Sweet Potato is a survivor!! She was found on the side of the road in Texas after being hit by a car. She ended up in the shelter where she had X-rays and they determine that both her hind legs were damaged. That immediately puts dogs in danger of Euthanasia but we saved her and paid for an expensive surgery to help her. Unfortunately her back right was so crushed it couldn't be saved, so it was amputated. Her other back hip was broken so she had a full hip replacement. At first she was worried about walking but now you would never know she is missing a leg! She spent a long time recovering in her foster home but is now ready to find her forever place. Sweet P loves to cuddle and be with her owners. She also loves to sleep in bed with her people, snuggling in under the covers. While she likes other dogs, she can be a bit bossy with them, but only occasionally. Sweet P can sleep with the best of them, and will often stay in bed after everyone else is up. While she is average energy, she loves to cuddle and sleep. She is a bit timid at first meeting but quickly blossoms as soon as she feels safe. Get foster said once meeting someone twice she is their BFF. She is a typical small dog (12lbs) with potty training she will go outside but also will use potty pads. She doesn't love the cold so she needs coaxing to go outside when it snows.
