About Benji

Benji is a 1.5-year-old Poodle mix, possibly a Bichpoo, Maltipoo (14 lbs), or a mix of both. This sweet boy was rescued thanks to a kind-hearted Good Samaritan who stepped in when his previous family was close to abandoning him at a park. She reached out to us for help finding him the loving and patient home he truly deserves. While we do not know Benji's full story, we can assume he experienced neglect and possible abuse in the past. When Benji first came to us, he was extremely fearful of people and new environments, and he still can be shy at times. Benji is looking for a committed adopter that will be patient with him, allow him to build trust at his own pace, and show him what love truly feels like. Despite his fears, Benji is trying so hard to be brave. He will slowly come up to you when spoken to gently, especially if you talk to him like a baby and give him soft kisses and reassurance. Once he begins to trust you, he can be incredibly loving and affectionate and truly is the best boy. Benji would do best in a home with another friendly dog, as having another dog around helps him feel more comfortable and secure. He thrives in calm, understanding environments with people willing to give him the time he needs to blossom. Benji is up to date on vaccines, microchipped, dewormed, heartworm/Lyme tested, and fully vet checked.
