About Arlo

Arlo is a super chill, sweet 5-month-old, 30lb Goldendoodle puppy (medium size full grown) who is looking for a calm home that will fit his sensitive temperament and current stage of development. He recently went through a stressful transition and has become overwhelmed in our very busy household with multiple young children, frequent activity, and people regularly coming and going. In unfamiliar or overstimulating situations, he can become fearful and vocal with new people entering the home or approaching outside, especially if caught off guard, but once he realizes someone is safe, he settles quickly and becomes very sweet and affectionate. He is also a very quick learner, responds well to gentle guidance, and already redirects well when reassured. He is currently struggling with being left alone following the recent transition and becomes very attached to his person. Underneath the stress of all the recent change, his natural temperament is incredibly calm, loving, loyal, affectionate, and deeply people-oriented. He loves taking naps, playing with water, chewing on treats, and curling up in your lap getting loved on. He is already potty trained, crate trained, forms strong bonds with his people, walks fairly well on leash for his age, and has done well with calmer, non-confrontational dogs. We truly believe he will thrive in the right environment and would likely do best in a quieter, more predictable home with adults or older children, fewer visitors, and someone patient and understanding with sensitive dogs. He is not yet neutered, and we would like any future home to plan on neutering him. We care about this sweet boy and want to find the environment where he can feel secure and be most successful while he is still young and adaptable.
