About Skye

Skye is a 1-year-old Anatolian Shepherd/Pit mix (our best guess based on conversations with our vet), and she truly has the sweetest personality. She's the perfect mix of playful, goofy, affectionate, and cuddly. We found her on the side of the road in Eastern Washington when she was around 4 months old, and she immediately stole our hearts. She loves being cozy no matter where she is - whether she's shoving her face into couch cushions, curling up for a nap, or somehow choosing the middle of a bush as the perfect resting spot. She absolutely LOVES the laser pointer and goes completely nuts chasing it around, but she's equally happy spending the afternoon napping nearby. She has such a fun, loving personality and brings so much joy and laughter into a home. The reason we are making this heartbreaking decision is because Skye has struggled living with our other dog inside the home. While she has done well with other dogs in neutral settings like walks and dog parks, she has shown resource guarding behaviors at home that have led to fights between the dogs. She has never shown aggression toward people. Because of this, we believe Skye would thrive best as the only dog in the home where she can fully relax and be the center of attention. We know this post spends a lot of time talking about the difficult parts, but we want to be completely honest so we can find the best possible forever home for her. She deserves a home where she can succeed long-term and be loved for the amazing dog she is. It is extremely important to us that she avoid a shelter environment if at all possible, and our hope is that she can stay with us until we find the right fit.
