RESCUES, BREED EXPERIENCED FOSTER OR ADOPTER NEEDED! Meet Cotton. %A4%8D I picked Cotton up Monday morning after his adopter made the difficult decision to surrender him back to rescue. Cotton was actually my foster in July, so seeing him again was emotional in ways I didn't expect. His adopters renamed him Toby, but to me he will always be Cotton. I know they wanted things to work for him. Sometimes love also means recognizing when something isn't the right fit, and I truly believe returning him was the right decision for Cotton. It's clear this transition has been really hard on him. I'm hopeful that a lot of what we're seeing right now is anxiety from all the sudden change and uncertainty. Thankfully, he remembered my dogs immediately and was SO excited to see them again. Seeing him relax, even just a little, felt like the first glimpse of the sweet boy I remembered. Cotton is a one-year-old Treeing Walker Coonhound with a huge heart and absolutely no idea how big the world is yet. He LOVES to run, explore, and be near his people. He's incredibly sweet, submissive, affectionate, and just wants to love and be loved. He also needs guidance. Cotton hasn't had much structure or training yet, and like many young hounds, he's curious, energetic, vocal, and happiest when he has room to move and another dog to play with. He would thrive with: %A4%8D A securely fenced yard %A4%8D Another playful, confident dog %A4%8D Patience and consistency %A4%8D An adopter or rescue familiar with hounds or working breeds He's still learning basic manners, crate training, and routine, but underneath all of that is such a good dog. He leans into you for comfort, follows the other dogs around hoping to fit in, and looks at you with those soft hound eyes. Cotton doesn't need perfection. He just needs someone willing to work with him and give him the chance to become the dog he's meant to be. We are currently looking for: An experienced adopter A breed-savvy foster Or rescue placement Please share Cotton so we can help him find the home he truly deserves. I truly believe his best days are still ahead of him. Love, Cotton's foster mom https://journeyhomerescuealliance.org/adopt/
