About Alexis

Alexis is currently at a shelter in Texas and needs a FOSTER or ADOPTER to secure her spot on transport to Cedarburg, WI with Mutt Life Dog Rescue on 6/3/26. A committed home is required for her to make the trip, and we're hopeful the right person is out there waiting for her. Meet Alexis Alexis is an 11-week-old Akita mix puppy who is ready for a fresh start and a family to call her own. She was found as part of an unwanted stray litter, and while she appears to have some shepherd in her mix, her exact breed makeup is anyone's guess. Sweet, friendly, and full of puppy charm, Alexis loves being around people and soaking up attention. She's the last of her litter still searching for love, and we'd really like to see this little girl finally get her happy ending. She is currently in a temporary foster home in Texas and is learning all about life in a home environment. Like most young puppies, she is still working on potty training, crate training, and leash skills, but she is eager to learn and thriving with guidance and routine. She enjoys playtime, cuddles, and exploring the world around her. She is medium energy and is a smart girly. Apply: Fill out adoption application completely and submit all necessary documents. 2.)Application Decision: approved applicants will be notified via phone call and email. �'��3.)Foster-to-Adopt Trial Period: after approval, you have the opportunity to do a meet and greet and bring your dog home! You get a 5 day foster-to-adopt (FTA) period to make sure it's the right fit. 4.) Final Decision: By the end of the FTA period, please let us know your final decision to adopt or return the dog to our rescue. 5.) Home Visit: After the adoption process we conduct a home visit either in person or via zoom meeting to ensure that everything is going well with the transition and to answer any final questions you may have. 6.) Neuter/spay for puppies: for dogs who are not fixed at the time of adoption, we will reimburse $125 for the procedure once we receive proof of spay/neuter. We recommend going to HAWS Snip Clinic in Waukesha, WI or Wisconsin Community Veterinarian Center in Madison, WI for the most affordable option.
