Email to rescue or be at the shelter Tuesday at 8am to foster/adopt! https://www.instagram.com/reel/DYIEf-YuxQr/?igsh=NTc4MTIwNjQ2YQ== ٠sLESS THAN 48 HOURS LEFT! 1 YR OLD COOPER DIES ON MONDAY 5/11s٠ Another pup slated for death in LESS THAN 48 HRS. Cooper arrived at the shelter as a stray at the end of March. He unfortunately caught an upper respiratory infection a few weeks in and was on kennel confinement for several weeks following that. Before he got sick, he went into playgroup multiple times where he was described as both social and selective. He was sexually motivated (he's not neutered yet) and constantly wanted to mount other dogs but was steerable. He would resource guard the female dogs from other dogs too. They also noted he was affiliative with people. Sadly, Cooper has gotten quite a few negative kennel notes from supervisors (barking, growling, lunging) during his period of kennel isolation. No surprise a young dog receiving no exercise or enrichment might get kennel stressed. He just was cleared of his URI so we got to take him out to the yard. He was excited and jumpy but calmed down quickly and could be easily corrected with the squirt bottle when getting jumpy. He showed off his commands and got a little playful. He also took every opportunity to soak up all the pets! Cooper is now ALERTED because of the negative kennel behavior. He dies on MONDAY 5/11 anytime after 8AM. He is available for foster, adoption, or rescue at South LA Shelter. COOPER #A2263241 1 yr old, 43 lbs
