About Odin

I am making the heartbreaking decision to rehome Odin because my life circumstances have changed in ways that make it impossible for me to give him the stable, safe future he deserves. I am currently facing severe financial hardship, the loss of my housing, and an out-of-state relocation to live with family so I can rebuild my life. As much as I love him, I can no longer provide the consistency, veterinary care, and long-term security that a senior dog like Odin needs. Odin has been a deeply loved member of my family for many years. This decision is not being made lightly or out of convenience. I have exhausted every option I could think of to try to keep him with me, but my current situation has left me without the resources, transportation, or stable housing needed to properly care for him. He is an older dog, around 15 years old, and he deserves peace, comfort, patience, and a home where he can continue to feel safe and loved during his senior years. Odin is very food motivated, loves toys and treats, and does well with cats. He can struggle with other dogs around food and should be fed separately, but he is affectionate, loyal, and has so much love left to give to the right person or family. My greatest fear is failing him by holding on when I know I cannot meet his needs anymore. I would rather make this painful decision now and give him the opportunity to find stability and care than risk him suffering because of my circumstances. I am asking for help because I truly want what is best for Odin. He deserves dignity, kindness, and a soft place to land.
