About Casey

Adoption Fee: $350
Australian Cattle Dog
Age: Adult
Sex: Male

Meet Casey, an 8 years old Australian Cattledog Dog who weighs 50-55 pounds. He has a docked tail. For those who know the breed, this is a great age where they have plenty of energy but are willing to chill out. Casey knows a lot: Sit, Stay, Come, Down, Break, Kennel, Treat, Paw. He is house and crate trained. Casey is a typical heeler. He is good with people, usually ignores them but will play fetch with them. Sometimes he will jump up to say hi when he feels excited to meet someone. He would be okay living with older kids. Casey lives with a few dogs his size and smaller and is good with them, even plays a bit. It helps Casey to have a few meetings before he becomes friends with new dogs. He has seen cats while in walks and seems to have no interest. He might be good living with a cat. Casey is great for travel. He has been on many road trips. He is good on leash as well. Like a heeler will, he will absolutely bark and jump back at dogs who bark and jump at him, and he can be easily managed. Casey is so playful and can be a real goofball who loves belly rubs. He loves to catch the ball and even jumps into athletic air spins to catch the ball midair. He loves to be brushed, coming to sit right between your legs and look back at you to say, 'I'm ready.' He does well with baths and loves sitting in a shallow pool, he'll head straight to the top step and just lay there while we swim. While not much of a swimmer, he'll do it to fetch a stick. He's also a talker, if he wants to play and you don't notice he'll drop the ball right in your lap, nudge it and whine a little to get your attention. He has coveted napping people in toys in hopes they will wake up and play. He also thinks it's fun to try to nip at the wheels of passing cars and bikes. Such a heeler! He even chased off a coyote who tried to attack the female heeler he lives with. Casey is neutered and needs his vaccines updated. He is located in Fillmore, CA. and is ready to meet adopters who are able to come here to meet and adopt. A home visit and vet reference are required.
